WhatsApp says it banned 29 lakh Indian accounts in January

WhatsApp banned 29 lakh Indian accounts within the month of January, the microblogging platform mentioned in its person security month-to-month report launched in the present day. The India month-to-month report is launched on the primary day of each month in accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

WhatsApp mentioned the report incorporates particulars of actions taken by it in response to grievances acquired from customers in India by the official grievance mechanism.
