Detroit Pistons rookie Jaden Ivey talked about his growth as some extent guard this season after Friday’s 118-112 dwelling win vs. the Charlotte Hornets (24 factors/3 rebounds/7 assists/1 block/8-11 FG/4-4 3-PT/4-4 FT).

(by way of Bally Sports Detroit):

Reporter: “I don’t think the 7 assists tells how well you moved the ball, you had a lot of hockey assists. Just learning how to play point guard at this level, what’s kinda been the adjustment that you’ve picked up over this last month as the ball has been in your hands more and you’re getting more acclimated to playing that position at this level?”

Ivey: “I would say the biggest thing is just continuing to play my game, knowing what’s there and what’s not there offensively for me. I love getting my teammates involved and running plays for other people, I feel like I’ve always had that unselfishness about me. So now it’s just learning how to play smart at the end of the game and putting my teammates in positions before myself. I think that’s the biggest thing is just I’m continuing to learn day by day.”
