The launch of Gauri Khan’s first restaurant Torii in Mumbai was a star-studded affair. Our social media was flooded with footage of celebrities attending the do. Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives stars Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Neelam Kothari and Seema Sajdeh, and even Filmmaker Karan Johar have been pictured on the restaurant. Right after the launch, Angad Bedi celebrated his forty first birthday at Torii along with his spouse Neha Dhupia and buddies, footage of which have been shared by Soha Ali Khan. But just some glimpses of the restaurant on social media, left us desirous to see and know extra. Well… now we do!
After designing many outstanding eating places, Gauri Khan stepped into the world of hospitality with the grand opening of her latest enterprise, Torii. Torii is a progressive Asian eatery that brings collectively influences from across the globe to create a singular eating expertise. Teaming up with restaurateur Abhayraj Kohli and entrepreneur Tanaaz Bhatia, Gauri Khan has got down to redefine the eating scene.
Talking in regards to the launch, Gauri Khan says, “Once I began designing restaurants it got me thinking how I could be more involved in this industry which I find exciting. With Torii, Abhayraj, Tanaaz and I wanted to create a sophisticated, and glamourous restaurant & bar where quality is seen in everything from the food to the drinks and of course, the design.”

What Does Torii Mean?
The title Torii originates from Japan, the place it refers to a conventional gate discovered on the entrance of Shinto shrines. For Gauri Khan, Torii represents greater than only a restaurant; it is a subtle and glamorous area the place high quality shines by means of each facet, from the meals and drinks to the design.

Gauri Khan’s design imaginative and prescient for Torii is clear from the second you step inside.
