Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander and Shaquille O’Neal.

If you watched Flavor of Love more than a decade ago, you might think these women were crazy for wanting to marry Flavor Flav, but really they just wanted to get on TV. Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander was one of those women who found success on other reality TV shows like I Love Money. Shaquille O’Neal had just finalized his divorce from his first wife in 2010 and started a relationship with Alexander soon after. Unfortunately, this relationship did not last and they separated in 2012.

As much as NBA stars are expected to be into movie stars or models, Steph Curry is another NBA star who married his high school sweetheart Ayesha. Although she was born in Canada, she later moved with her family to North Carolina, which also happens to be Curry’s home state. The two met at a youth group before reconnecting during his time as a college player. They married in 2011, and since then Ayesha has hosted a cooking show on Food Network.

Isaiah Thomas is an NBA point guard and two-time NBA All-Star, despite being only 6’4″ – his accomplishments are all the more impressive because most players tower over him. Perhaps, like some of the other couples on this list, the Washington Wizards star player’s continued success is due to the fact that he and his wife Kayla dated for years before they married. They met in high school, and by the time they tied the knot, they already had two children.

Even more than Nicole, Shaq’s great love was Shaunie, to whom he was married from 2002 until their divorce in 2009. She is also one of the executive producers of Basketball Wives and the mother of four of Shaq’s children. Each of them has another child from a previous relationship. Despite rumors in the summer of 2019 that Shaq was flirting with her and trying to get back together, Shaunie dismissed those reports and confirmed that they would remain joint parents and friends.
