Sixers’ new head coach, Nick Nurse, who succeeded Doc Rivers, has made it clear that he expects reigning league MVP Joel Embiid to step up in numerous facets of his recreation.
Former NBA participant Eddie Johnson has expressed his settlement with Nurse’s feedback and believes that Embiid ought to embrace the problem.
“I think Joel has to stand up and accept everything because he’s getting everything,” Johnson acknowledged on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “So if he’s mad about that, I applaud Nick Nurse for throwing that out there.
“Because he’s letting him know, ‘Hey look, dude, you can’t get out of the second round. All the stuff you’ve done, you still can’t get out of the second round. So I’m going to tell you and show you how you can. Oh by the way, if you want to know how, I can do this, I won the damn title. I am a championship coach. That’s why.’
‘I don’t see any problem with that at all. That’s what Joel Embiid needs. He needs to be stimulated past his greatness.”
