Maria Cummins, mom of Australia Test captain Pat Cummins, has died after battling a chronic sickness. Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed the news via a tweet on Friday morning, forward of the beginning of Day 2 of the continued fourth Test between India and Australia on the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. CA additionally confirmed that the Australia gamers will don “black armbands as a mark of respect” for Pat Cummins and his household.

Cummins had flown again residence to be along with his ailing mom, who was positioned into palliative care, following the conclusion of the second Test in Delhi final month.
