Spain captain and World Cup remaining hero Olga Carmona came upon after the match that her father had died, the Spanish FA (RFEF) stated on August 20.

An RFEF spokesperson advised Reuters that Carmona’s father had been preventing an extended sickness and died on Friday.

“I know that you have given me the strength to achieve something unique,” Carmona wrote on the social media platform X, previously referred to as Twitter. “I know you have been watching me tonight and that you are proud of me. Rest in peace, dad.”

According to Spanish media outlet Relevo, Carmona’s household and pals determined to not inform her in order that she might concentrate on an important match of her life.

Carmona’s mom and brothers travelled to New Zealand throughout the World Cup’s group stage, however then rushed again to Spain. They arrived in Australia on Saturday to assist the Real Madrid fullback within the remaining.
