Cameron Murray open to Wallabies swap in future as Jones units sights on Souths celebrity

Rabbitohs star Cameron Murray has revealed he’s open to a rugby union return and will sit down with Wallabies coach Eddie Jones as soon as his present contract expires on the finish of 2025.

However, rugby union officers reportedly need to pry the marquee gun away from Redfern early and are contemplating a shock play in keeping with the Sydney Morning Herald.

One Australian rugby union official has reportedly already contacted Murray’s administration and Jones has earmarked the Rabbitohs captain as a prime goal.

Murray has beforehand made it clear the door is open for a return to the rival code, having performed for Newington College’s First XV in his youthful years.

“I’m contracted for three years, that’s where my focus is, and beyond that, the time will come to think about my future,” Murray stated to the SMH.

“I haven’t heard anything from Eddie. I haven’t heard from anyone, really.

“I’m not someone who will say, ‘I’m happy to win a few comps and then go somewhere else’. This club means too much to me to just tick off a few comps and then leave.

“If the time comes and I’m off contract, and I’m negotiating my future, I’ll think about it then. I loved school rugby. I’ll still watch the big internationals, but I don’t want much sport at all.”
