“There is going to be some awfully big highs and lows.

“There’s times where you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel but you just have got to persist and I wish him all the best.

“He’s got a long road ahead of him, but with the right people around him and him wanting to work hard, he should be fine.

“But he’d be down at the moment.”

“I’m very sure he will. Youth on his side, great medical staff around him, but it’s the mental battles that I remember most, whether I was going to play again.

“Don’t give up, don’t ever give up. You’ll go through some massive highs and lows through this. All you want to do is play footy… but don’t give up on it and fight to the very end and I’m sure he will come out with the result he is looking for at the end.”
