Flyer’s new dwelling after tumultuous season; Titans prolong halfback – Transfer Centre

It’s been a tumultuous season for Knights flyer Lachie Miller, who’s now UK-bound after signing a three-year take care of the Leeds Rhinos within the Super League.

Miller was Newcastle’s first selection fullback initially of the season, and in what was an up-and-down first half of 2023 for the Knights, Miller confirmed loads of glimpses.

However, Miller was dropped to order grade with Kalyn Ponga shifting to his most popular fullback place.

Considering the red-hot type of Ponga and the Knights, Miller has discovered it onerous to regain a spot within the first grade aspect.

The news of Miller’s transfer was introduced by the Rhinos in an announcement on Wednesday.

“I am looking forward to joining such a prestigious club as Leeds Rhinos and excited to come across having spoken with Rohan and Gary to be part of the culture at Headingley,” Miller stated.

“I really enjoyed my footie at the start of this season and I want to bring that to the Rhinos.”

TITANS EXTEND HALFBACK

The Gold Coast Titans have signed halfback Tanah Boyd to a one-year extension, conserving him on the membership by to the top of 2025.

Boyd has featured in 21 video games for the Titans this season, however has been sidelined for the remainder of 2023 to bear shoulder surgical procedure.

Through a club-issued assertion, Titans coach Jim Lenihan says the membership is delighted to increase Boyd.

“Tanah is now 60 games into his NRL career and after playing a few different roles for the team early in his career, he has been able to grow into that halfback role this year,” Lenihan stated.

“He’s built a great combination with Kieran Foran and I know both of them are keen to build on this throughout the pre-season.

“He’s another local product, having come through the Keebra Park State High School system and we want to keep these guys here on the Coast.

“Tanah is one of the hardest working players in our squad and I know he will want to use the pre-season to continue to build his game ahead of the 2024 season.”

RAIDERS RE-SIGN STARLING, RECRUIT FORMER KNIGHT

The Canberra Raiders have introduced they’ve re-signed reserve hooker Tom Starling and signed Newcastle utility Simi Sasagi.

As per an announcement from the Raiders, Starling’s deal is a two-year extension which hyperlinks him to the nation’s capital till the top of 2025.

Starling has been out and in of the aspect this season. He returned to the Raiders’ NRL aspect within the win over the Bulldogs.

Sasagi in the meantime, is a 22-year-old utility who has but to function for the Knights first grade aspect in 2023.

He has performed 16 video games for Newcastle in 2021 and 2022. There’s little doubt he’ll be searching for better alternative in Canberra.

“Simi is a talented young player who will get an opportunity to join us next year and further his career,” Raiders recruitment supervisor Joel Carbone stated.

“The way the game is going, it is essential to have players with utility value in your squad. Simi has shown that so far in his short career – being able to play Lock Forward, Five-Eighth, Centre and even Hooker.”
