‘He’s had a tricky week’: Star fullback bounces again after household demise to guide Broncos to win

Broncos coach Kevin Walters credited his fullback Reece Walsh after a “strong performance” in a 30-14 win over the Cowboys, regardless of coping with the demise of his uncle through the week.

Walsh was in all places for the Broncos in each assault and defence, and after scoring a game-sealing attempt within the 74th minute, confirmed loads of emotion after signalling to the sky.

Fox League’s Brent Tate confirmed through the protection that Walsh’s uncle had handed away, after Dan Ginnane observed the star’s emotion.

“We’re seeing some emotion for Reece Walsh here as he looked up to the sky,” Ginnane mentioned.

“It’s a big moment for him, it’s a big moment for the Broncos and Reece, who we have seen his emotion in the past, is letting it out at the moment.”

Walters paid testomony to the 21-year-old for bouncing again after a “tough week”.

“He’s had a tough week Reece with family and the like. It was a really strong performance from him after a tough week,” Walters mentioned in his post-match press convention.

“It was great to see him get that try and he showed some emotion when he got it.

“He made some really big plays for us. I thought his work out the back with Jock (Madden) and Ezra (Mam) was really good and defensively he came up with a couple of really good plays for us to get our numbers right.”

On high of his attempt, Walsh recorded 135 metres, two line break assists, a line break and 4 sort out busts to assist Brisbane stage with Penrith within the race for the minor premiership.
