Rugby league legend Mat Rogers dished out a hilarious sledge to Matty Johns’ Knights which left the previous halfback surprised.
The 51-year-old performed 176 video games for Newcastle and was clearly ecstatic after the membership’s gutsy 24-14 win over the Raiders.
Fox League’s Bryan Fletcher heaped reward on former Sharks fullback Lachie Miller, explaining he was surprised the previous Olympian had performed solely 11 first grade video games.

“They (Newcastle) were very good, I thought Lachie Miller, this was his 11th game in first grade, what he has done in 11 games I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone do what he is doing,” Fletcher stated.
“Today ball-playing, he is known for his running but I think he set up (tries), he’s everywhere at fullback but now he has added a ball-playing string to his bow.”
Johns went so far as labelling Miller the Knights’ finest participant thus far in 2023 and Rogers couldn’t maintain his tongue.
“He’s been the best player for the Knights this season, today every time he got the ball,” Matty Johns stated.
“But mate to be honest, it hasn’t really been that hard to be the best player for the Knights over the least few weeks,” Rogers stated.
Johns was clearly shocked by the remark and sat and laughed earlier than he stated: “I’ll just let that wash over me”.

Meanwhile, Knights coach Adam O’Brien’s determination to drop flyer Dominic Young was closely criticised.
