Latrell breaks silence over alleged racial abuse as new particulars emerge in police investigation

Rabbitohs famous person Latrell Mitchell has damaged his silence after he was allegedly racially abused throughout halftime of Souths’ 16-10 Round 2 loss to the Panthers.

The 25-year-old instructed The Daily Telegraph “racial abuse is as unacceptable in society as it is in rugby league” after he was allegedly referred to as a “b***k dog” by a teenage fan.

Both the NSW Police and NRL Integrity Unit are investigating the incident and authorities have reportedly knowledgeable the membership they’re now inquiring into what witnesses allege the teenage boy stated to the champion fullback.

But Mitchell stated he was adamant the slur was racial.

South Sydney gamers are additionally reportedly assured they heard the racial abuse while strolling down the tunnel at BlueBet Stadium and are but to be interviewed by police.

“It is important for me to call this abuse out immediately,” Mitchell stated.

“Not only for myself, but every Indigenous person who has suffered or suffers this sort of abuse.

“We have a number of Indigenous players in our squad — who will have all been as equally offended by the comment.

“The only way to stop this abuse continuing is for people to call it out immediately — just as the Panthers players and my teammates did on Thursday night”.
