“He’s doing it for his family, he wants to stay closer to his family, so is his family moving to Perth?” Tallis stated.
”If he’s going to go to rugby you’d assume it’s the NSW Waratahs or the Queensland Reds,” Rothfield stated, to which Tallis responded, “well you’d think the Reds.”
While Tallis charges Haas extraordinarily extremely, he has doubts if he’d have the ability to transition efficiently to rugby union.
“Two things, Sonny Bill Williams goes, and the great athletes go…. It’s a totally different game. Sonny Bill Williams was a forward (in NRL), went over and played in the backs so it’s very, very hard.

Journalist Brent Read agreed with Tallis, believing Haas must play within the centres if he made the change.
“I don’t think he’d play as a forward. I spoke to someone who said he might play as a centre maybe in rugby,” Read stated.
“I don’t think he’ll have any problem making the switch as he’s a great talent but my issue is, and it’s one of the things he’s banged on about is winning things. If you want to win things at the moment a. you don’t go to the Force and b. you don’t go to the Wallabies.
“The Force won five games this season.”

Rothfield defended Haas, claiming it’s “not his fault” he’s the topic of presents from different golf equipment and codes in addition to stating “there’s so much interest in his next move”.

“He wanted to be a $1 million player, the Broncos offered him a million. He said he wanted to be in a winning team, the Broncos are second on the ladder. He said he wanted to be near family, and they live in Queensland,” Tallis stated.
“There’s no issue with the story, there’s no issue that they (Force) have even had a crack at him, it’s ridiculous if you bang the drum about wanting to be successful and play on winning teams, this is not the team you go to,” Read stated.
“It’s great they put an offer on the table but he’s not going to go there. It’s not going to happen.”
“Is this a gee up? He’s going to go to the Western Force is he, like come on,” Anasta added.
“Where does he want to go, why does he want to go anywhere. It’s hard to know what’s true and what’s not.”
