LISTEN TO TOM TRBOJEVIC ON THE FOX LEAGUE PODCAST BELOW

Manly celebrity Tom Trbojevic joins the podcast to have a look again over his adorned journey in rugby league.

Brisbane younger weapons Reece Walsh, Ezra Mam and Selwyn Cobbo have it up this season however Parker highlighted it’s Reynolds who has allowed them to shine.

“They’re very, very good players but what I will say is without Adam Reynolds it’s a different story,” Parker instructed foxsports.com.au.

“Reyno is the guy that gives the little kids enough leash to go do their thing, but reins them in when he needs to – and that’s a fine line.

“Look back to the Roosters game at Suncorp, or the Parramatta game at Suncorp where the Broncos were dominant and Reece was good but there were a lot of opportunities that he gave the Roosters through mistakes.

“The only way you can learn from those errors is by making them, but if you do them in the biggest games then the consequences are a lot higher. When you’ve got teams that can make you pay, then it becomes an issue.

“That’s why Reynolds is so crucial, because he’ll pull them into line when he needs to.

“Look back to the game two weeks ago with no Adam Reynolds and the Broncos tried to score off every play, like every play. It wasn’t until they really settled themselves in the second half that they found some points.

“So you need a really good balance of flair and arrogance and swagger and hard work but you need a bit of experience and composure as well. Every team that has won the competition has had that.”

Parker known as the Broncos “arrogant in a good way” earlier within the week and emphasised the choice to nominate membership nice Kevin Walters as coach has effectively and really been vindicated.

“There have been Broncos games this year that I have watched and seen they didn’t hone in on some areas they should, but then they just back their ability to score points and they win,” Parker mentioned.

“They can’t win without their best players, that’s a given. Pat Carrigan coming back from a foot injury, Adam Reynolds from a calf injury are both critical, those two need to be part of their team.

“But Kevvie’s appointment has been vindicated, without doubt. When he arrived they were wooden spooners and now they’ve finished equal top with Penrith who have been the No. 1 team for the last four years.

“Their biggest test is still ahead of them but to date they’ve passed every test with flying colours.”

The resolution for the Storm to nominate coach Craig Bellamy was vindicated many years in the past, and Parker mentioned there’s no particular secret behind his legendary success.

“Bellamy relies purely and solely on hard work and diligence to know your job,” Parker mentioned.

“You talk to any current or former Melbourne player and under no circumstances did they go into any game, let alone a big game, underprepared or not knowing their role or their opposition’s weaknesses and strengths.

“They’re across everything to the nth degree. Their pre-seasons are gruelling because Bellamy doesn’t know any other way and to be the best you’ve got to train the hardest and work the hardest.

“Every time Melbourne has gone through a bit of a lapse or form slump, and we saw that at different times this year, Bellamy has said we’ve just got to work harder. His system works.”

Walsh was his typical brash self within the lead-up to Friday’s ultimate, claiming “he doesn’t fear” Melbourne.

Nor has he paid a lot consideration to Brisbane’s file in opposition to the Storm and their lack of current success in opposition to Bellamy’s males.

When requested by a reporter if he believed in hoodoos, Walsh shot again a lighthearted reply.

‘What’s that? Nah, I do know what it means,” he laughed.

Walsh could also be relaxed, however that’s not how his opposition are feeling looking for a sport plan to cease him on the sector.

Bellamy likened Walsh to Storm legend Billy Slater, albeit faster.

“I don‘t know whether I have seen a quicker player than Reece. Billy was unbelievable at changing direction and still being quick, but that straight line pace (of Walsh) … I haven’t seen many quicker than this bloke,” Bellamy mentioned.

“We have a little plan we are hoping to put into action but he is a very dangerous player and a huge benefit for the Broncos.”

Storm star Cam Munster, thought to be top-of-the-line big-game gamers within the competitors has a wholesome respect for Walsh after seeing what the 21-year-old can do first-hand in Maroons camp this season.

“He’s fast, very agile and he’s a very confident kid. He’s very brave throwing those high-pressure passes, and nine times out of 10 he’s made them stick,” Munster mentioned.

“He’s obviously going to be in our game plan, but you can’t really coach speed, and he’s got something that not many people have.

Munster was also not keen to get into his club’s remarkable recent run against the Broncos, believing it won’t give the Storm a “mental edge.”

“I’m sure they (Broncos) know all about the history of how many games we haven’t lost at Suncorp, but it’s only a record,” he mentioned.

“All records are made to be broken so we’ve just got to go out there and play our style of footy.

“We can’t really focus too much on what the records say in the history books, but if we go out and play the style of footy that we know we can play then we can have a really good night.”
