“But we have come a long way with our defence compared to last year. Still there is a bit to go and that will be showcased again tomorrow night against a quality side.
Walters said he was confident the Broncos were the real deal and could end the proud club’s 17-year title drought.
“There’s a lot of belief within our group both the players and coaching staff and everyone involved in the club,” he mentioned.
“We haven’t played our best football yet, that’s in front of us and we will start to see that again tomorrow night.
Walters was then asked what it meant to him to be steering the Broncos into the finals again with the prospect of a top finish.
“I am really enjoying my job, it’s part of my role here and all the coaches to get the place better.
“We are better, but we’re not the complete package, so we’re working really hard to get that complete package.
“When we do that, and it’s not far away I can assure you, we might change a few people’s minds.”
The Broncos might be with out Brendan Pikura for the conflict with the Roosters after the ahead was dominated out with sickness.
