The Daily Telegraph reported the NRL had contacted Newcastle asking if Gamble would offer a press release or seem on the judiciary listening to, nonetheless the membership reportedly knowledgeable them he could be doing neither.

Sydney Morning Herald rugby league reporter Adam Pengilly added: “It’s one thing in the heat of the battle to be making allegations, which Tyson Gamble clearly did on Sunday … and then after the game he was very much backing away from taking it any further
“I tend to agree with the sentiment of the listeners. If you are going to make that allegation and bring it into the public sphere, surely you should be compelled to give evidence
“But also on the other hand, I can understand that he’s got a huge game to prepare for, they’ve got to fly to New Zealand, and he wouldn’t want the distraction of having to be front and centre of a high profile judiciary hearing.
“I can see both sides of the fence but I think in some respects if you start this process you need to be there to finish it.”
The judiciary listening to is scheduled for 6pm AEST on Tuesday, with the Raiders failing to have it moved to Wednesday to provide Wighton extra time to benefit from the membership’s end-of-season celebrations
