The Rabbitohs have boosted their depth by signing utility Siliva Havili to a two-year contract extension via till the tip of the 2025 season.

“The South Sydney Rabbitohs are delighted to announce the contract extension of international forward Siliva Havili for a further two seasons today,” the membership mentioned in a press release.

“Havili will be wearing the famous red and green jersey of the Rabbitohs until at least the end of the 2025 season with this extension, well earned after his first season playing for South Sydney in 2022.

Havili, 29, has played 127 NRL matches so far in his career, including 23 games for South Sydney, since making his debut for the Warriors in 2014.

Siliva has gone on to play 15 Tests for Tonga and one Test match for New Zealand over the past ten seasons.

Havili revealed he has made a home at South Sydney.

“The family and I have really enjoyed the move to Sydney, especially to this Club in South Sydney,” Havili mentioned.

“The Members and fans have been great to me, as have the Club and the staff.

“It’s really exciting times and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the coming years.”

Rabbitohs Head of Football, Mark Ellison, says he’s more than happy to be working alongside Havili for an additional two years.

“Siliva had a great year for us in 2022, showing his utility value throughout the forward pack and providing punch for us whether he starts the game or comes off the interchange bench,” Ellison mentioned.

“He has also proven to be a leader amongst the squad, particularly with the young Pasifika players at our Club. He was a leading force behind our round three fundraising efforts for the tsunami-affected people of Tonga last season and he provides great guidance and strength for young guys like Keaon Koloamatangi, Davvy Moale, Josiah Karapani and Daniel Suluka Fifita.

TIGERS BOLSTER HALVES DEPTH

DRAGONS REWARD LAWRIE
