Souths star gained’t hit open market, set to signal large long-term extension

Souths ahead Keaon Koloamatangi is reportedly set to signal a three-year extension with the Rabbitohs, retaining him on the membership till the tip of 2027.

According to The Daily Telegraph, talks between the proficient backrower and the Rabbitohs picked up this week as rival golf equipment started to circle Koloamatangi in preparation for the November 1 deadline.

However, it appears these golf equipment gained’t get an opportunity to barter with Koloamatangi, who is ready be part of teammates Campbell Graham, Latrell Mitchell and Cam Murray as having inked long-term extensions at Souths.

Koloamatangi loved a career-best season in 2023, which included a maiden Origin jersey for the Blues.

The 25-year-old signalled his want to stay with the Rabbitohs earlier this week however didn’t seem assured a deal would get achieved quickly.

“I obviously haven’t spoken to anyone, at this stage I’m not allowed to speak to anyone until November 1,” he informed The Daily Telegraph.

“Hopefully we can sort something out with the Rabbitohs, but if not, it is what it is. We’ll see how things go when I’m back.”

Koloamatangi will fly out to the UK this week with the Tongan nationwide workforce to arrange for a three-match take a look at collection in opposition to England.
