“There’s no concern from the Newcastle Knights point of view that Kalyn won’t play again,” Daily Telegraph’s Dave Riccio instructed Triple M.

“They are extremely confident he will be back on the footy field within a number of weeks.

“I think it’ll be at least two weeks but at this point of time, the Knights are certainly saying we’ll see him again.

“The debate that has risen is whether they move him from five-eighth to fullback to take him out of the frontline defence at the physical contact required.

“However, I’m not getting any information to suggest that the Knights are preparing to move him (from five-eighth).

Riccio also gave some insight into Ponga’s road to recovery and his Canada visit.

“It’s an assessment of the neurological markers and as far as technology goes, it is technology that is only available at a clinic in Canada,” Riccio stated.

“Even though it is an exhaustive and expensive option, it’s a rather quick assessment from what I understand and a swift process for Kalyn.”

“You’ve got to break the pattern if the knocks keep happening and take the time off.
