Tigers ‘a big chance’ to land Luai as race for Panthers star heats up

The Tigers seem like the clear frontrunners to signal Panthers star Jarome Luai, with a call from the playmaker prone to be made within the coming days.

Luai’s contract with the Panthers ends after the 2024 season, together with his present membership reportedly solely in a position to supply a brand new deal value $800,000 a season.

Speaking on SEN, The Daily Telegraph’s Dave Riccio says there’s an “increasing confidence” the Tigers will land Luai, with coach Benji Marshall key within the recruiting drive.

Riccio went onto say that a board meeting at the Tigers later this week will go a long way in whether the club decides to “go all in” for Luai.

“This will pick up and gain some traction in the next 48 to 72 hours,” he mentioned.

This newest improvement comes a day after Knights star Bradman Best posted a cryptic message on social media which steered Luai was heading to Concord.

Best commented an emoji of a tiger beneath a video Luai posted on Instagram.

Best, who can be off contract on the finish of 2024, was reportedly provided a deal from the Tigers which might have made him one of many highest paid centres within the sport.

However, the Blues rep is ready to remain put with Newcastle.
