“We need that three, we need the series. It would have been such a boost for everyone watching, it would have been a proper decider… we would have got the ratings up, I don’t know why we wouldn’t do it.”

Meanwhile, Sergis and the Roosters have welcomed a bunch of big-name stars to their squad forward of the NRLW launch on Saturday.

Dally M Medallist Millie Boyle alongside Queensland star Tarryn Aiken and Kiwi worldwide Amber Hall have all joined the Tricolours.

“Millie is Millie, she is definitely the clown and has got the voice. You can hear her from down the road, she’s that much of a great girl and brings so much energy around the squad,” Sergis mentioned.

“It really lifts out spirits and besides her you have Tarryn, who is a little bit quieter. But I think her actions speak louder than her words.

“Just the quality of football she plays, she’s a tremendous athlete… a great quality footballer.

“We recruited Amber Hall as well, and she’s going up against her old club (the Broncos) so I am looking forward to seeing how those three go.”

She additionally revealed the Roosters have a secret weapon ready within the wings for the 2024 NRLW season — Aliyah Nasio.

“We have a girl called Aliyah, she is only 16 years-old and she is 17 in a couple of weeks, just before the season kicks off,” Sergis mentioned.

“John Strange, our coach, really tried to push a waiver in to the NRL to try and allow her to play like Joseph Suaalii but unfortunately that got knocked back.

“Which was pretty disappointing, obviously Joey’s got accepted and we thought Aliyah would be the same.

“She’s a tremendous athlete, she’s only 16 and she is probably taller and bigger than half our girls in our squad. She is very strong and athletic.

“But everything happens for a reason, I think it gives her time to focus on her body and she’ll be back ready to play for us next year.”
