Ecommerce agency eBay Inc stated on Tuesday it is going to lay off 500 workers globally, representing 4% of its whole workforce.
E-commerce agency eBay Inc (EBAY.O) stated on Tuesday it is going to lay off 500 workers globally, representing 4% of its whole workforce.
Shares of the San Jose, California-based firm rose about 1% in aftermarket commerce.
“This shift offers us extra house to speculate and create new roles in high-potential areas – new applied sciences, buyer improvements and key markets,” stated Jamie Iannone, Chief Executive Officer of Ebay in a message to workers.
A raft of U.S. firms from Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N) to Alphabet Inc (GOOGL.O) have laid off hundreds this 12 months to journey out a requirement downturn wrought by excessive inflation and rising rates of interest.
