Google has denied the experiences that it’s copying Microsoft-owned OpenAI’s ChatGPT to coach its AI chatbot referred to as Bard.

A report in The Information claimed that OpenAI’s success “has pressured the 2 AI analysis groups inside Google’s mum or dad, Alphabet, to beat years of intense rivalry to work collectively”.

According to the report, citing sources, software engineers at Google’s Brain AI group are working with employees at DeepMind, which is a sibling company within Alphabet to develop software to compete with OpenAI.

“Known internally as Gemini, the joint effort began in recent weeks, after Google stumbled with Bard, its first attempt to compete with OpenAI’s chatbot,” the report claimed.

However, a Google spokesperson advised The Verge that “Bard will not be skilled on any knowledge from ShareGPT or ChatGPT”.

Meanwhile, Google has announced it is opening up access to its ChatGPT competitor “Bard” as an early experiment for customers to collaborate with generative AI.

Early entry to Bard has rolled out within the US and the UK, and the corporate mentioned it is going to develop the entry over time to extra nations and languages.

Bard, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing chatbot, is predicated on a big language mannequin (LLM), particularly a light-weight and optimised model of LaMDA, which the tech big mentioned will probably be up to date with newer, extra succesful fashions sooner or later.
