Google India has handed over pink slips to greater than 400 staff and a number of the impacted employees took to LinkedIn to share their plight.

The layoffs at Google India had been a part of the bigger job cuts that impacted 12,000 employees globally on the firm.

The Hindu Business Line was first to report concerning the layoffs at Google India that occurred on February 16.

Kamal Dave, an account supervisor at Google’s Gurugram workplace, wrote on LinkedIn: “I used to be part of Google India Layoffs yesterday. At Google my energies had been centered on delivering Digital advertising Goals for a number of industries on the high of their meals chain in India as an strategic key account supervisor/guide”.

“I am looking for a new role and would appreciate your support. Thank you in advance for any connections, advice, or opportunities you can offer,” Dave posted.

Another Google India worker, who survived the layoffs, stated it “is actually troublesome to see them (colleagues) undergo this”.

“It is even more difficult, as you don’t know how to talk to them, what to say,” the worker added.

Employees, who survived the current layoffs at Google, are frightened and have demanded assurances that their jobs will not be subsequent to be axed by the corporate throughout a current all-hands assembly with high bosses.

Denying that the layoffs had been carried out “randomly”, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai had said earlier that he is “deeply sorry” for decreasing the workforce.

In an e-mail to staff, Pichai stated he takes “full duty for the choices that led us right here”.

The layoffs at Google’s parent company were expected amid the deepening funding winter that has hit companies of all sizes in the global slowdown and recession fears.
