In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel mentioned Taiwanese firms are collaborating in varied programmes launched by the federal government to spice up the electronics manufacturing and semiconductor ecosystem in India.

The authorities facilitates and promotes interactions in areas of commerce, funding, tourism, tradition, schooling and different such people-to-people exchanges with Taiwan, she mentioned.

”India is just not engaged with Taiwan for any assist in the areas associated to roll out of 5G providers,” she added.

Replying to a different query, the minister mentioned that sugar exports in April-November this fiscal stood at USD 3.21 billion.

On a query associated to agri exports, Patel mentioned the first purpose for India’s comparatively low share within the world agriculture export is its enormous home consumption base because of its giant inhabitants.

”However, India’s share in world export has registered a gradual enhance over the past 21 years i.e. from 1.1 per cent in 2000 to 2.4 per cent in 2021,” she mentioned.

According to the information offered in her reply, India’s wheat exports stood at USD 1.5 billion through the first eight-month of this fiscal.
