Under the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA), TikTok’s proprietor ByteDance, Alphabet unit Google, different giant on-line platforms might be required to police unlawful content material on their platforms, prohibit sure promoting practices, and share information with authorities.

But after TikTok agreed to a voluntary “stress test” final month, EU trade chief Thierry Breton mentioned “more work” was wanted for the agency to be totally compliant.
