Arriving on the British movie trade’s equal to the Oscars along with her husband Prince William, the royal turned heads on the purple carpet in a gown she had beforehand worn to 2019’s awards. But she remodeled the look with an altered shoulder design and a pair of opera gloves.

Making their first look on the annual awards in three years, the couple had been among the many most hotly anticipated arrivals at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The Princess was one among a number of stars choosing a black and white palette on an evening that included a tribute to William’s late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
William, who has been president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010, in the meantime caught to a basic black-tie gown code in a velvet tuxedo.

Elsewhere on Sunday’s purple carpet, it was an evening of comparatively pared-back vogue. Jamie Lee Curtis shocked in a black and white ensemble, whereas Julianne Moore mixed a black draped bustier robe with a white feather jacket.
