Biden says U.S. is ‘working like hell’ to search out American hostages in Gaza

President Joe Biden stated Sunday the U.S. is doing “everything in its power” to search out 14 Americans being held hostage by Hamas within the Gaza Strip.

In excerpts from an interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” airing Sunday evening, Biden known as Hamas’s assault final week, which killed greater than 1,400 Israelis, together with a minimum of 30 Americans, “pure barbarism.”

“I say we’re going to do everything in our power to find them,” Biden instructed CBS News’ Scott Pelley, in regards to the American hostages. “Everything in our power. And I’m not going to go into the detail of that, but there’s — we’re working like hell on it.” 

Biden additionally stated the U.S. can simply deal with supporting its allies in simultaneous wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

“We’re the United States of America for God’s sake, the most powerful nation in the history — not in the world, in the history of the world,” Biden stated. “We can take care of both of these and still maintain our overall international defense. We have the capacity to do this and we have an obligation … to paraphrase the former secretary of state: If we don’t, who does?”
