British nuclear sub missile launch fails throughout check for second time in a row, report says

A missile test-fired from a British nuclear submarine did not launch, the second failed check in a row, The Sun newspaper reported, forward of a Commons briefing to lawmakers on the subject.

The first-stage booster didn’t ignite, so the missile with dummy warheads that was launched from a Florida website splashed proper subsequent to it, although it didn’t hit the HMS Vanguard submarine, which had Defense Secretary Grant Shapps on board on the time, the report stated.

The missile check was carried out in late January, the report stated.

The Ministry of Defense instructed the newspaper the failure was “event specific” and that there was no implications for the reliability of the broader system.

In a earlier check, in 2016, the boosters did ignite however then the missile went off beam and routinely self-destructed. The final profitable check was in 2012, the report stated.
