Hewlett Packard Enterprises to purchase Juniper Networks in $14 billion deal

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. has agreed to purchase communications-networking supplier Juniper Networks, Inc. in an all-cash deal value round $14 billion, the businesses stated on Tuesday.

shares had been down 0.4% after hours, after falling 8.9% through the day.

The Wall Street Journal reported the potential of a deal on Monday. Juniper has an AI section known as Mist AI.

“The acquisition is expected to double HPE’s networking business, creating a new networking leader with a comprehensive portfolio that presents customers and partners with a compelling new choice to drive business value,” the businesses stated in a launch.

“The explosion of AI and hybrid cloud-driven business is accelerating demand for secure, unified technology solutions that connect, protect, and analyze companies’ data from edge to cloud.”
