Bavuma left the sphere on Friday after 9 balls of the primary innings and returned 4 overs later. He limped whereas fielding, largely at mid-off and hobbled whereas working between the wickets, opening the innings with Quinton de Kock.

Later, Temba advised the broadcaster that although he had the choice of resting, he needed to be with the group, regardless of it being a useless rubber.

“My leg is sore – don’t know to what extent – but it’s going to have to be fine (for the semi-final). Obviously, I had that option of coming off, but I think as much as it was our last group-stage game, probably it didn’t have a big bearing in terms of the play-off,” Temba stated.

In case, Bavuma misses out on the semifinal, Aiden Markram is predicted to guide South Africa, as he did when the common captain flew again residence in the course of the warm-up video games and in addition when he was unwell for 2 video games in Mumbai.

However, the group administration is hopeful of the skipper recovering in time.
