Ravichandran Ashwin grew to become the joint-highest wicket-taker within the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) through the second day of the fourth Test on the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.
Ashwin, who dismissed Todd Murphy and Nathan Lyon, surpassed Anil Kumble (111) together with his 112th and 113th scalps, finishing one other five-for; his thirty second in Tests. He is now stage with England’s James Anderson on the sixth spot within the checklist of bowlers with most five-fors in Test cricket. Ashwin completed with figures of 6 for 91.
Ashwin, the second-highest wicket-taker for India in Tests, is the joint No.1 bowler, with Anderson, in ICC Test rankings.
Nathan Lyon, the one Australian among the many high 5 wicket-takers in Border-Gavaskar Trophy, leads the chart with 113 wickets.
