KL Rahul to overlook Pakistan and Nepal Asia Cup 2023 matches: Dravid

Wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul was on Tuesday dominated of the primary two matches of the upcoming Asia Cup as a consequence of a “niggle”, delaying his much-anticipated return to the Indian crew.

India head coach Rahul Dravid stated the niggle is unrelated to the thigh damage that stored him out of motion for months.

Rahul was named within the Indian squad for the event, beginning Wednesday.

“KL has had a good week with us, playing well, progressing really well but he will be unavailable for the first part for the Kandy leg of the trip,” Dravid stated on the pre-departure presser.

The coach added that Rahul might be staying again on the NCA and a name on his participation within the event might be tackle September 4.

“The NCA will be looking after him for the next few days while we are travelling. We will reassess on the 4th (September) and take it from there. But signs are looking good. He will be unavailable for the first two games,” Dravid added.

India takes on Pakistan in its event opener on September 2 adopted by Nepal on September 4.
