No Fireworks In Delhi, Mumbai Cricket World Cup Matches. BCCI Takes Environmental Stand | Cricket News

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has determined towards the show of fireworks in the course of the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023 marketing campaign in Delhi and Mumbai. The choice was introduced by the BCCI secretary Jay Shah within the wake of the worsening air air pollution within the two cities. With each the cities already battling alarming ranges of air air pollution, the Indian board determined to ban the show of fireworks for the rest of the marketing campaign.

Sha mentioned that the BCCI needs to contribute to the authorities’ efforts of combating air air pollution, and therefore, determined to ban using fireworks in World Cup matches.

“I took up the matter formally with the ICC and there won’t be any fireworks display in Mumbai and Delhi, which can add to the pollution level. As for the World Cup schedule, India performs South Africa on the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. In Delhi, Bangladesh will tackle Sri Lanka subsequent Monday.
