Sri Lanka floor employees awarded money reward promised throughout Asia Cup 2023

Sri Lanka Cricket on Wednesday has commenced the distribution of the USD 50,000 award (INR 4.1 million) cash to the bottom employees in Colombo and Kandy introduced throughout the Asia Cup 2023. 

The rewards, granted by National Curator Godfrey Dabrera, had been awarded collectively by the Asian Cricket Council and Sri Lanka Cricket, with every establishment contributing USD 25,000.

According to SLC’s launch, 138 members of the bottom employees (everlasting and contract workers) of the R. Premadasa Stadium, who labored throughout the event in August-September had been rewarded, whereas 115 members of the bottom employees of the Pallekele, Kandy, will obtain their reward on Friday.

“The staff of both venues did a yeomen service during the tournament to ensure the practice facilities, outfield, pitches, covering and uncovering of the ground, and related services were in place and in time to conduct the tournament successfully, despite the bad weather conditions that prevailed during that time,” the discharge stated.

Curators, turf supervisors, floor employees, and technical employees are among the many recipients of the reward fee for the event that noticed majority of the matches affected by rains.

The six-team event was performed between August 30 to September 17.
