Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson equal ODI World Cup file for many semifinal appearances

India’s Virat Kohli and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson made their fourth ODI World Cup semifinal look as their sides face off within the last-four stage of the continued event on the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Kohli and Williamson are the sixth and seventh gamers to make a file 4 semifinal appearances within the competitors.

Kohli made his first semifinal look in 2011 towards Pakistan, throughout India’s title run. His subsequent last-four matches — in 2015 and 2019 — resulted in defeat, with the latter one coming towards the Williamson-led New Zealand.

Interestingly, Kohli and Williamson had confronted off within the semifinal of the under-19 World Cup in 2008, with India rising the winner on that event.
