Los Angeles, Jan 7 (PTI) After it was introduced that “Barbie” will compete for a finest tailored screenplay nomination on the 96th Academy Awards regardless of campaigning for unique screenplay, filmmaker Judd Apatow says it is an insult to the writers to say they have been working off “existing material”.
Greta Gerwig directed “Barbie” from a script she co-wrote together with her husband and frequent collaborator Noah Baumbach. Fronted by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, the movie grossed over USD 1 billion at worldwide field workplace in 2023.
