Vishal Bhardwaj says ‘We are conditioned to assume Imran Khan is a foul actor’

Vishal Bhardwaj has stated that the viewers has been conditioned to imagine that Imran Khan is a foul actor. He was talking with The Lallantop when Vishal recalled working with Imran Khaan in Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola. Never said that he is a weak actor,” Vishal added in the interview.

During the interview, he also recalled the time he worked with Naseeruddin Shah and revealed that the veteran actor was supposed to play the role eventually essayed by Makarand Deshpande in Makdi, but he made excuses and did not do it. “Mujhe laga wo bahane bana ke nikal gae (I felt he simply made excuses and walked out).” The filmmaker additionally stated that he later gave the script of Maqbool to Naseeruddin and requested him to decide on one function. He initially selected the function of Abba (Pankaj Kapur’s half), however later requested to be given the function of Inspector Pandit.
